I don't think 1/4 would be too thick. That's what my front and rear flares are. They still have good flex to them but in the same still have some rigidity to them

Got my full underseat and up the back insulation in.

Middle section back in.

Job complete... FYI reinstalling the seat back by youself with the new insulation holding it out can be a real PITA.
