That’s probably harder on the environment. We used to spread our used oil on our farm roads be the greenies started to protest because it was so "environmentally unfriendly," so we had to stop. Now I usually take it to a local garage where he burns it in his old waste oil furnace.

Lol right. I have no problems with environmental conservation, I’m just glad my ranch is in rural Oklahoma where nobody’s looking over you’re shoulder.WAY harder but most of the greenies here function only on emotion and the out of sight - out of mind theory.
Yea, some of that ammo you mention is iffy new lol. I know it is matchable - ideally when you are loading your self defense ammo into your carry gun (as example) you would make a note of the gun and date on the box of self defense ammo. This way if you were ever in a self defense shooting the ammo could be referred to should the shooting go to court. Characteristics of even factory ammo change from lot to lot so the ability to show what you shot can help in court. It can be used to recreate the scene to help determine distance from, who could have fired etc.I had heard the shelf life rumor a few years ago. I had also heard something to the effect of traceable ammo. I don't know how they'd go about doing it as I'm no chemist but I'm sure they could figure it out. Otherwise, I don't think it'd be cost effective nor much of a reality at this point. The Ammo I have come across in the past as having a shelf life was due to poor quality manufacturing especially old surplus ammo like Yugo 8mm or Pakistani .303. I don't mess with either caliber anymore although both the Mauser K98's and Lee-Enfields were and still are awesome rifles. I've owned a number of each in the past and both were great rifles. Remington declaring bankruptcy just recently may put something of a shortage out there eventually but I just cannot say for certain. Go Go Gadget M1A...
I actually had not thought about the ammo impact from Remington..... I just thought of their firearms... may have to Pick up a few boxes.I had heard the shelf life rumor a few years ago. haha ...... New Iberia (south La.) is different than SE La. They have what we call 'gumbo mud'. Yep, it sticks to your boots until it looks like you are walking on stilts! Are you FROM La, or just your Mom moved here. Wonder if you were a crawfish fanatic? How do you get through Louisiana mud in a SHTF scenario? To me every step I take just adds more to my growing shoe size. Mom lives in New Iberia, just south of Lafayette. Missin me some Boudin!
I treat my oak trailer floors about twice a year with burnt motor oil, mixed with a little diesel. Also paint/treat my creosote fence with it. Todays creosote aint crap compared to 50 yrs ago.Bridge Game floor, Ravine, River or Gully Crossing, Ship's Bridge, Spaceship Control room? If its a bridge bridge, Is it a covered bridge? How far is it?
You must have some awful noisy neighbors! We used to spread our used oil on our farm roads be the greenies started to protest because it was so "environmentally unfriendly," so we had to stop. Now I usually take it to a local garage where he burns it in his old waste oil furnace.
My understanding is they are NOT out of business, just reorganizing via bankruptcy court.I actually had not thought about the ammo impact from Remington..... I just thought of their firearms... may have to Pick up a few boxes.
Love that one, I do that to the top of wood fence posts.Seal wood from rot and insects...
