The pad is ready. I called and told them just in case someone else isnt ready they can bump me up. Will be helping my brother tear down his garage this weekend. He is building a much larger building.

I have $ 58,000 in a 40 X 75 red iron shop, no plumbing or electric, electric coming later this year. I put up all the red iron and wall insulation and sheet metal, hired the roof install. Put garage doors in the south and north ends. Winter, open the south door to let the sun warm the floor for heat, in the summer open the north door for cooling, egress door is on the east side, store paint and never had it freeze, do have a double barrel wood stove, when I'm working in the shop in the winter.

If you are stubbing in electric or plumbing, keep in mind the outside wall frame line will be 3 inches from the outside of the slab form, that said, your 30 foot dimension will end up being 29 foot 6 inches from outside of frame line to outside of frame line.

Haven't been following this thread so if it's been suggested I apologize, I'd consider running extra conduits or sleeves while you're trenching out to it anyway. You'd be surprised at the crap you or someone else may want to add later and it's a lot easier to do it now. FWIW.

So is the solex lt insulation worth it. It would cost about 1900 to add it. Salesman says it helps in the summer and eliminates condensation

I added it.
I think that it would be much hotter in there if I didn't have it. I have placed my hand on the metal walls and it's really hot, while inside the walls are tolerably warm.
As for winters in the south? Maybe it helps. But I have a lot of air leaks.

I have it on mine. It will condensate every now and then depending on how much of a weather change there is ( 30 degree swing in 24hrs) in a small amount of time but it's not too bad. As the day warms up it will still hold in some of the cool air from the night and is the opposite at night time it will cool down faster outside and the shed will stay warm. I also have a wood burning stove in mine for the winter and it holds the heat in great. It's definitely worth the the extra money if your going to spend a lot of time out there.

insulated garage doors also help.

Exciting times! Take lots of pictures. Knowing where stuff is hidden in the walls behind insulation or drywall will help in the future.
Also, snap pics of any siding, roofing tags they use for future use as well.

Agree 100 percent. I took a gazillion pics while my garage was built.
