Hey members,
Slowly but steadily we are building our p1000-5. We are looking into sound systems. Looks like there are a crap load of avenues. Looking to have at bare min a built in bt speaker set up with amp and possibly a sub. Anyone willing to share their own setup? Or any suggestions for a $300-$600 range?

If you can DIY your own setup $600 will go a long way. If you have to purchase pre made then $600 will get you a radio and speakers, no sub. I have my eyes on the swamp donkey. $600 for their JVC setup without speaker LEDs. If you want to DIY you could easily put up a couple free air marine MB Quart subs and 4 Rockville wakeboard speakers/ standard MB Quart marine 6.5". Add a bluetooth radio and marine amp and you are all set.

https://amazon.com/Rockville-RXM-T1-Marine-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B01GDVWB3I/?tag=sxsweb24-20

2 10" subs $150
4 6.5" speakers $120
Bluetooth radio $100
Marine amp $110
$480 total before wiring, overhead boards for mourning, and switches. Leaves you $120 for a dual battery setup for the subs.

For $160 you can swap the 6.5" speakers for wakeboard speakers

https://amazon.com/Rockville-RWB65B-Marine-Wakeboard-Speakers/dp/B01266LSIS/?tag=sxsweb24-20

You can find it all in black if you do some Amazon searching if white isn't your thing.

Otherwise easy to setup and quick to use is swamp donkey for $600

You can get those pods on ebay. Open air subs suck, ported is better, sealed is best. FWIW
thats kinda what i was thinking.
i have been looking at subs lately. $75 seems too good to be true, but it may work for what i need in the SXS.

I know this one will rock, but keep hesitating to pull the trigger on it
it will make me want to upgrade my 6.5's and cost me even more...

I do not have the sub. I really want to DIY my own system and the MB quart is what I want to go with however my projects keep putting everything off so the swamp donkey is starting to sound quick and easy to me. I could add the subs later. I currently just use 2 aomais GO Bluetooth speakers paired in stereo.

I agree but adding bass in the roof is easy with open air. Unless you have some good fiberglass skills that I don't have.

JL makes good stuff. Kicker has a vented setup for around 375 and Rockville sells a deal with amp for almost the price of the sub alone

The Rockford Fosgate 10's were the best deal I found. 300w rms in a sealed box. $150 each.
Stereo 2
The little Alpine amp runs some 6.5 Infinity component speakers up front and a set of 5.5 Polk's in roof pods.
Storage Net 1
SSV Works overhead is the head unit, pair of 6.5 Infinity's in there.
Infinitys and Pod
Sounds clean and hits hard.

I went with the Swamp Donkey and added a bluetooth XM dock. Works great for me and its an easy install with only the power leads to connect. Unit is solid, water resistant and all self contained. They use Sony and Kicker speakers. There is a lot of good options for sure.
