hellnaw! we are kings of scrapping things together... somebody just needs to start a radio build thread and everybody else follow along and offer up suggestions and improvements... we'll have a network in no time!

Bottom line, be educated anough to make a reasonable decision on what to do. Then do what you are comfortable with and if there is a negative consequence, at least you knew up front! I'm going to go the license route and that opens up other possibilities and potentially allows me to operate in a real emergency situation and not just having fun while riding in the woods!

Slow down, there Turbo. Let's just get everyone talking locally. Once that is good we can branch out to the moon and back... lol. It wouldn't take $20K, but there's definitely people that have that much... and a helluva lot more, invested in the hobby.
