That's not real! Oh! It's yours....now I understand. Sharp, I've seen your "tunes trailer" and other mods. I can believe this one.

That's cool. I like it. No fumes!

How's tongue weight. I see you say 500 lbs, but that looks like it would be substantially more.
Not sure with the 1000. I use a distribution hitch. Probably 1500lbs id guess if the weight is spread fairly even between tires and ball

You will find that tongue weight is a big consideration when talking about toy haulers. Most 1/2 ton payload caps limit your choices. I have a 24' Livin Lite with a 16' garage. It's all alumn ( frame, floor, roof , cabinets, everything )so it is light enough to tow with my tundra. The P1000 fits no problem.

I have a small toy hauler; a Work n Play 18EC. Momma and I like it for the short trips we do. Then I get it in the fall for hunting. With a P5 in the back it's 7,200 lbs so do yourself a favour and be sure to have a modern diesel truck. I have a '13 GMC 2500 Duramax. The engine brake is essential IMHO.
Al

Post us a pic Al. I was eyeing that one last year.

I have a 371 Fuzion and The Honda fits great. Two baths and sliding doors for the patio. I think the weight is 13300 lbs and about 39 feet. I pull it with. 2017 Super Duty single wheels and no problems. The Fuzion is a 2015 and is for sale. 406 452-5594. Or 406 799-5794

That fusion you got is very similar to my 357 Keystone Carbon. Nice rig if someone is interested.

I've pulled a triple axle 36' Vortex for some years for dirt bike trips to desert and dunes, which is about what u need to maneuver trailers this size. Currently thinking about downsizing. Doing less rowdy trips to the desert with the boys and more weekend trips with the fam. Hank Jr was right...

My vortex has a separate garage, huge plus for dirty toy storage. I don't have any knowledge of how much fuel fumes would linger in a non garaged trailer. Fifth wheels gain that nice bedroom area up front over truck bed freeing up space in rest of trailer. See a lot more pop out slides in 5th vs bumpers. If you go 5th wheel and will be upgrading trucks, LONG BED! You don't want the gooseneck bite on your cab from a short bed. Downsides for me, trailers this size are great once you are there. Getting there at least out in ca, takes some thought and preplanning. You just don't whip these things through city limits. A lot of places with regulations have 26-28' limits on length. 5 th wheels are considerably taller when u are thinking about going through camping country. And u loose most of your bed in your truck. But they are super comfortable roomy pull great and just look bad ass.

The reasons I'm looking at 26-28' bumper. I keep my Campershell space on truck for dogs. Shorter height wise. Cheaper. Can use wife's suv or my truck.

Someone told me, if your gonna camp, get a bumper pull. If you are gonna travel, go 5th wheel. If your just getting into it, buy used, see if u like then maybe upgrade. U can also rent for a trip and see options and sizes u like. Happy shopping

View attachment 37646 this is what I have. Any 3/4 ton or the correct set up 1500 can pull it. Dry weight is 5500lbs with a tongue weight of 550lbs. A new one of these are around $20,000. Mines an 08 camper is 20' with a full kitchen and bath. 3 beds. Ive seen some newer ones on Craigslist for around 10 - 12 grand. I really like it.

When you load the P1K, is there enough room to clear the Jack and Propane tank covers or do you need to remove then prior to loading?

I clear it but my battery and tanks are swapped around for more clearance. Super easy to do.

I am also looking to a toy hauler for my 16 P1k-5. I am having trouble finding one that has enough room under the rear bunk. Most are 76" and my P1k-5 is almost 80". Even letting the air out of the rear tires is not cutting it.
