Shop organization

Next time you come by there is a shop by here that sell only used pallet racks btw. I built a gigantic equivalent to a pallet rack several years back, but now its just full of sugar, salt and the other side is junk. I wish I had the money to put about 20 of the milwaukee pack out medium organizer type that would get most of my bolts and connectors. I did see some one make a drawer system for them once that was nice.
Well s***... get me that number and ill call them and see if they have what I want. I need 4-16’ tall racks

I’m going insane in mine... it’s an utter cluster fluck! Ive searches and searched for tools and stuff... I’m about to have a mass clean out! I just wish I have the pallet racks to start organizing

It's been that way for years. No need to get bothered now.

Shops are like anything else, if you allow them to, they will fill up in no time. I have several shelves in mine plus bolt bends and specific places for odd bolts, parts. It helps if you don't like clutter.

yeah those 50 sets of school lockers in there don't hardly take up any room though

I remember the first time a bunch of us came over before the infamous overland trip it was All nice and clean. Now it's like you shove everything in the door with a tractor and roll it shut.

Kilo it's like he tried to impress us before but now the honeymoon phase is over. It's like he doesnt care anymore 🤷‍♂️😕

I have been staring at my shop for the last few days and realize it looks like a mechanical version of hoarders. So I made this thread if anyone has any handy tips, particular products or ideas for organizing a shop/garage post them up! I need all the help I can get!
We need pics of the situation to offer you the most effective solution to the problem 😉

Kilo, i’ll post some pictures of some simple redneck organization stuff....

A piece of aluminum angle works great for hanging pneumatic tools

PVC pipe works great for drills and drivers

The biggest thing with organization for me is just to try to find simple methods to keep things together.

All your whiskey glasses and shot glasses need to be together as well

The metal racks in this picture are the top and bottom of the storage bin things that I got from Harbor freight. I didn’t want to have the storage bins rolling around on wheels so I re-purposed the metal racks as a rack for greasy things.

They are mounted slightly lower on the left with a hole drilled in them and that’s where I throw grease tubes and oil funnels and all the grease and oil drips into a jar

The harbor freight tool boxes are super handy. I love the little rolling tool box with drawers

Another picture showing that I’m keeping similar items together. This is all of the batteries and chargers.

That board under the chargers is a handy way to store smaller drills and drivers. And yes I did use a marker and write on the board what type of bit is in each of those

For larger air tools you can use the one-handed chucks that are easy to just push the male fitting into. I have them screwed into a board

Joey even has a damn roomba clean his shop, if I set a roomba on the floor in my shop all the spare parts and junk would get jealous and eat it.

The roomba would instantly let its smoke out!
