I like using the Milwaukee boxes for screws, nails etc. Much better than having a bunch of individual boxes laying around and falling apart.

I used to have the big stand up fastenal type bins for nuts ,bolts and misc. They took up too much wall space so I went to some menards tool boxes with storage trays to save space and see easier.

Saw a bunch of mentions of the Milwaukee Packout system; with very minor trimming the base unit mounts in the Talon, and it'll mount to the seat back in the Pioneer with no trimming, and allows the seatback to raise to the upright position unimpeded. Allows the use of the Packout accessories, tool bags/boxes, cooler. Pretty neat, and a quick way to remove your tool/travel kit when not in use.

Agree with work benches on wheels and nesting to leverage floor footprints. Here’s a few.
Combined fixed power tools on double sided rolling table for middle of garage. A separate rolling work table at same height for miter and radial arm saw feeds. Remounted an old table saw on rolling table to fit underneath the work table. Modified a HF Dust Collection and combined with an old shop vac to make a rolling clean up station. The rolling scaffold provides multiple storage levels with a wood rack on top. The Jaw horse helps as it folds for storage and can clamp 1000lbs for smaller equipment mounted on 2x6 (grinder). And the Shop Smith provides several pieces of equipment in a small footprint. For the garden shed, drilled multiple upward angled holes in 2x4s to insert pvc pieces depending on width of hand tools. Its a continuous improvement task to organize.

Some super nice shops in this thread and great ideas. My 30x40 has been in a constant state of change for 26 years. Always a struggle to find places for all the things I apparently require.

I am about to build a larger shelving setup while its raining tomorrow to help reduce the clutter and gain some floor space back. I am "nesting" my "home brew" powder coat oven and two portable generators under a section that is going to be an expanded workbench space.

With all this spare time due to the 'Rona I have been finishing my 2year old todo list, I realized a lot of inefficiencies in my garage layout and tools. So I reorganized and bought some replacements that have been on the list for a while anyway.

I have been looking at wall mounted plywood based cordless tool storage to gain some drawer storage back. I am liking a version with a French clear mounting system so I can reorganize easier as I add tools.

I also got rid of my 1000 watt halogen work lights in favor of (2) battery or 120v hybrid LED lights which are brighter than the halogens, to make them easier to store and use. I can use them in close proximity without getting burned as well, THAT alone was worth the expense. With the small footprint and being battery powered I can place them on my welding table, under the hood, under the house, or wherever I need good light. I was able to find the corresponding tripod that will actually hold 4 of them yesterday for 50% off, it folds to a short cylindrical shape and the lights detach so I am able to actually find a small cranny to stick it in vs trying to find a place to store a 3' x3' "T" shaped light. A side benefit is I have a long range target camera that mounts on the same ¼-20 mount and I can mount it and one of the lights on my home range so in the summer when the target is in the shade the camera has spectacular lighting and its also easy to see the target through optics from 300yds.

I converted my old 120v wall mounted wet/dry vac to an abrasive collection unit for my sand blast cabinet and bought a 9gallon cordless wet/dry vac that makes garage/vehicle cleanup easier because it seemed the hose was always just a foot too short, and I gave away the large hose reel I never installed on the wall because it took up so much space. The upside to buying the cordless tools was they came with batteries and chargers for a few dollars more than the tool only so I was able to add three chargers and 2 large capacity batteries as well.

I picked up a air tool storage rack that hangs the smaller ones from the ¼" QC.

I have a 60gallon compressor with hose reels but its a pain to reel out 50' of hose and add extensions to air up a tire on one of my trailers.
I ran across a good deal on an 18v compressor that will use two of the large capacity batteries with a long runtime, one is more than enough for a couple of tractor tires that have leaks due to thorns, its not enough to run a ½" impact but I have a battery powered one for that. Its plenty for my air grease gun(already have a air one no need to buy a 18v one when the air one works with the compressors I already have) or to fill tires that aren't easy to get close to the garage.

I like the fact I can throw any of the 18v tools in the truck for when we go camping or riding and not need 120v.

I ordered a few of the wall mount parts bins from Amazon but they won't be here for a few weeks even though they are prime.

I'll have to look at a Jawhorse, that looks like a great idea for stuff I don't need permanently mounted to a workbench and would like in the middle of the floor for easy cleanup.

I didn’t even post actual pictures after Terry posted his... dang that’s a CLEAN shop, do you have a housekeeper that cleans it for you or do you not use it and its just for pictures?

Forgot to show the portability of the miter saw if needed using the Jaw Horse generic mount. Made a recessed pocket in the work bench for fixed mount.

I'd like to see more photos of your fishing rod rack

Simple as it gets taking advantage of the way the shop was constructed. The walls are 3 rows of concrete blocks with stud wall on top. Leaves a handy ledge. I screwed a scrap pieces of 1x stock with a series of holes to that ledge for the butts. Another piece of 1x on the wall with cup hooks.
