Being born and raised in the Chicagoland area I've lived through some very cold and long winters filled with a lot of snow! Back in my early 20's while shoveling the driveway I decided that "there must be a better place than this to live"... so I packed up my young family and moved south. First to Chattanooga and then just south of Atlanta; I've been here ever since! Can't believe that was 35 years ago!!
It hasn't been out of the low teens here for a couple weeks. We've had a lot of below 0 temps, too. It's supposed to warm up into the 20s this weekend.
Well that's not as cold but it's going to feel like it! 50 swing that soon is nuts.
We're single digits for a bit looks like. I'd like it to stay at 31 all winter then go away
I like it in the mid 20s. Not too cold, but cold enough that the snow isn't real heavy and wet.
Luckily there is nothing like that here. The worst we had was ice storm awhile back it rained nearly frozen rain for days dropped power lines and roofs all over. Most of the city lost power forever. It was so slick out you just didn't drive anywhere
I'll stick with earthquakes and volcanos... lol
