Although I just don't think I will be able to wait for the 3, I am very interested in the size difference of the bed size between the two units. Can anyone fill me in on the difference say the 5 with a bed liner and the 3 bed size?

While I was at the demo there were guys there more interested in the 3 then the 5, Wayne Lambert (one of the head designers) was explaining The bed on the 3 is wider insind towards the back cuz you dont have the seat latching mechanism required with the 5 seat making the tailgate wider, he must have pointed out about 3 times that a regular sized pallet would slide right in.

Thanks for the info. Today I was at my Honda dealer finalizing my P1k order and for the first time I actually had hands on a 700-4 and 700-2. I folded the seats and looked at the bed on the 2 and I don't think that is a huge thing for me. What I did note was the size of the back seats. They sit quite low with my knee's higher than my waist (or it felt that way). Both my wife and I said we would hate to drive 5 hours like that. I did ask and maybe someone would answer if the P1K is any different regarding back seating. The first thing I did when I got back home was to look up booster seats for adults. Just sitting about 4 or 5 inches higher would make all the difference. Any thoughts?

Honda does not have bed size specifications on their website, but the dimensions of the 1000-3 & 1000-5 are the same for length 116" and width 63" so on pure conjecture the bed size would likely be the same both are rated for 1000 lbs, except the CA models only 600 lbs. due to the required extra 400 lbs. of warning labels and emissions equipment.

PS. The last 7 words I made up but probably more truth than fiction.

I think length is the same, it's just the width that's different. (EDIT: Of the bed I mean) Those seat back latches and the clearance for the roll cage eats up quite a bit of width.

Pulled the trigger on the full size roof, glass windshield, rear panel with sliding glass and the rubber bed mat. It'll be a shame that I'll have the parts before the machine to install them on shows up.

Ned, Your booster seat thing is a good idea. I am a old resort brat and still use the square boat seat cusions for passengers on my Foreman. Maybe 1 or 2 stacked would do the trick they are around 2 -3 inches thick individually.

I just picked my machine up but they have no ideas when the accessories will come in. My order was put in for those in July.

Can you get some of the front?
Showing the clearance between the tire and footwell.

I tried to get a few good views but it's pretty dark in my garage. See if these work for you. If not, I will try when I have more light tomorrow

Thanks, that looks TIGHT for a 30 huh? Looks like you've got just a gnats butt hair over an inch of clearance.

Yeah it's a bit under two inches of clearance. I can comfortably say that 30s will not fit. I was worried about rubbing with the 28's but so far no issues; even with the suspension compressed

Thanks, I'll probably stay with 28" Blackwaters since they are 8ply rated vs the 4ply bighorn2.0s

Maybe a 2" lift would let them fit? Maybe not when compressed?

Argh I need/want my 1000!
