Your original switch, the black wire is not ground, the green wire is not ground.
In this diagram, there is no ground, only hot from the ignition, red.

Green and Black just happen to be the color chosen to transmit the power/hot from the switch to the contactor.

When you push winch in
- green wire is hot
- blue wire is ground
When you push winch out
- green wire is ground
- blue wire is hot

To wire in your new switch
If the winch switch works opposite, switch the blue and green around.
If the contactor only buzzes or clicks, try unhooking the NEG/black wire going into the switch. If the contactor still buzzes, low voltage or bad switch.

A multimeter would tell you exactly what voltage was coming out of the blue and green wire.
