We can get that temperature up here. We definitely get the humidity.
I don’t like the 90 and 100 degrees with humidity. It’s not a lot, but it does get that hot. Camp doesn’t have air con.
Usually a breeze. 70’s would be nice right now.

Well, you can’t build a road with an excavator. Dozer’s are for building the road and grader patrols are for maintaining them. But for me I maintain my roads with a tractor with an angling box blade.My neighbor in CB has a dozer and excavator. He uses the excavator for roads. He said the dirt from the ditches goes on the road, after he pulled the stumps.

I dunno man... a buddy of mine up in Sandpoint built our road. All he used was an excavator.
On another note.
@Mopower I watched Swamp People tonight. Two of them were in Mississippi. They said 900 and something tags and 15,000 people wanting them. Have to get them at night with a rod. Now that’s fishing.
And the Asian Carp, that’s crazy. Hit her right in the head. Just putting in the water. How do you stop a fish like that from taking over. I guess you can’t.

@AlR , I just saw the video of the guy and his dog Shorty, in Cambell’s River, with the two Cougars. Those big cats weren’t bothered by that big dog at all. You would think that that dog would be the last thing they would want to go after. They did look like they just left mama. Still young. But crazy.

Most of the gator hunters I know shoot them in the middle on the back part of the head. There is supposed to be a spot that instantly kills them. Yea those Carp are taking over it seems, sometimes they try to pass them off here in restaurants as Mississippi Farm Raised Catfish. I think there ia a law now where you have to state the place of origin.On another note.

Haha, a catfish isn’t a carp , and a carp isn’t a catfish. Like up here when some restaurants tried to pass off cheep fish as Halibut. Can’t do that anymore.
In Miss they catch with a rod, at night, then put a snare around their head, before they can shoot them. Big difference from Louisiana. Was cool to see.
It’s crazy to see the carp jumping right in the boat. It’s too bad someone couldn’t figure a way to eat them that they taste good. As bad as friggen rats.

Well, in the very first picture, my truck is parked just inside the gate at the county road, the driveway I’m making is a half mile long back to the house site, the property is a mile deep, so it sets in the center, there’s already a 750’ well there.
The road I’m building is a number one road, which can only be built with a dozer, a number three road (forestry department standards) like mjn posted picks of (flat and narrow) can’t get long dumps in and buildings like the 12x32 garage I’m having delivered next week. For a number one road, 40’ is cleared, the road bed is 18’ ditch to ditch with 12” of crown and 10’ of back slope on each side, wing ditches according to the terrain to discharge water away from the road and culverts where appropriate. Then gravel is spread on the center 12’ of the high crown.

As you can see, an excavator is designed for digging, you can’t build a “proper” road with one. You can check with road building contractors or just watch when your passing road construction zones. Dozer’s build the bed, excavators are digging culverts, utilities, or parked near a material source (embankment) digging where dump trucks pull up and get loaded and then take it to where the Dozer’s are working. Fine tuning and maintenance is done with patrol (road grader) like this one.Not a problem Monte. He’s been driving an excavator for over 35 years.

Beautiful day today at 56*F or 14*C. Sun’s shining and the bird’s are chirping. Time for some yard cleanup. Tomorrow’s supposed to be better.
