My wood is coming Monday and it’s going to be 85 feels like 100. I got my wood a month earlier this year because it was always so hot the first of July. Of course it’s going to be hot.

Just 30 minutes earlier I was spreading base coarse, the sun was out and it was quite warm, T-shirt.....Then suddenly this and the temp dropped to 45*.....😳😬

We’ll try this again. 40* this morning and 71* for the days high. Base course gravel delivery will resume today. Looking good at 6:00.....

Might as well do a runway while you're at the drive way thing. 1500' or so is usually plenty for little planes and a wind sock will look nice out there. Gotta do something about those elk though. A friend hit a little deer on the runway in a beautiful rebuilt Air Coupe and could easily have been killed...deer took out the right landing gear and they slide into the 6' fence the deer jumped over. Fence post went thru the side of the fuselage and stopped inside the instrument panel...a foot or so back they could have been poked with 2" holes. Turkeys are less of a threat but are messy if you hit one...need to get the blood and feathers off quickly before it dries.

I used to teach old farts and most were good students and became good pilots. I held an over 60 ground school once just to bring them into the "'90's" (that was awhile back) and explain modern English...not sure I understand it anymore...especially the BS being taught in schools now. Now it's more fun to teach bow hunting to young kids and the girls pay attention...better than boys.

Well aged so far. Oh yeah but both generations learned reading, riting and rithmatic, maybe some science and stuff they could use to make a living and to respect your elders.

Copilot and I too the little Pioneer up the Cape Hope Trail this morning...beautiful views of the big lake. Fried Squid strips and fish taco's for lunch and back home in 30.9 miles and now for a nap.

She pulled 45 mph on the highway and an easy 15 on the trail...damn that think makes a lot more noise than it did around the house...never going to be able to sneak up on critters.
