48F and dropping to 35 tonight...getting too close to snow in the mountains but will be 30 here over the weekend so who knows. I had 31 turkeys in the yard last evening...dogs went wild...Lab wanted to retrieve at least one. #1 son has an airsoft gun that fires full auto and it didn't even phase them...is this a mutant flock??
Did talapia on the grill last night...6 filets and we were stuff with fish tacos...wonderful with just salt, pepper, garlic and paprika....8 minutes each side...YUM!!

I think I’d let the dogs go and you could have had turkey for Canadian thanksgiving this weekend. 😊
My daughter is bringing her paint ball gun down to Cape Breton this weekend. I said we’ll put a few paintballs in the freezer and see what happens. That would probably wake up a turkey.

Great idea...frozen paint balls!!! Now what the hell did I do with my old paint ball gun? Quieter than a .22....head shots are harder though...what about using marbles?

They would probably hurt.
My daughter has a hand gun that takes a gas cylinder. It hits a lot harder than her big one. I wouldn’t want to get hit by it.

I have a metal lathe and lots of 4140 tubing. Just looked and the gun is not where I left it...wonder who might have absconded with it??

Yeah and they (along with the deer) are eating CP's flowers. They also come in at night so I'm thinking trip wires may be in order...just can't find Claymores anymore.

Rest of week looks warm through this coming weekend. Cold fronts are going be pushing south this coming week every few days. Nothing cold but cooler than it is now. We still we have some warm days here and there. That what forecast models show right now anyway.

At first you must pass up a few because you probably have to go right home if you get one. Guys are moose hunting in Cape Breton this month. I was on the bike and stopped to cut a tree and when I sat back in the bike, a huge crash about twenty feet away to my left. About 4 large crashes. Too big for a deer. Rutting time for them. I didn’t stay around to see him. If I had my 30.06 I would have called him. Haha
I kept looking in my mirror, but didn’t see him.

Haha, me too. I came around the corner up from the camp early one morning a couple years ago and going around a corner , there was a big Bullwinkle. Standing across the road. He didn’t look very scared of me. Of course no phone for pictures. I turned around.

Somewhere we have a picture of a cow and calf moose in front of the drive up window of MickyD's in downtown Homer, AK.
30.7 just now...frost on the porch...Fall is here I think but I still have lots of outside work to get done but I guess I need to turn in the shorts for pants until April.

Half way down the “loneliest Highway in America” we found a national forest campground and stopped for the night. Beautiful place, exceedingly remote….
Intended to gril steaks then it started raining and sent us inside to cook on the stove…
Didn’t even get to have the fire we collected wood for…..🙄
It’s about 7,500’ and quite cold this morning.
