You won’t have that problem up here. Might freeze solid before you could get it home. One of the guys shot a mule deer die and it was frozen. A bugger trying to skin a frozen deer. And getting the tenderloin out was cold on the hands trying to get my fingers behind it. Back strap wasn’t too bad. Much easier not frozen.Dang shame you and I can't split the difference in temps Caper!! 86 here today just north of Houston! I want to go hunting this weekend, but DANG I'm running low on that 12 gauge ammo with the salt added... Afraid my meat will spoil before I can get to the deer after I shoot him!
I saw one of the biggest bucks I’ve seen in a long time this afternoon. Long wide tines. He jumped the fence and right behind another bush then right inline with the vehicles. What a big deer. I even whistled a few times trying to get him to stop. Nope. Big deer.We have a front coming in from up your way... Right now it's dead calm and cloudy and 80 degrees... My home is just 40 minutes north of my office and it's 55 there and blowing a gale... It's supposed to be decently cool this weekend and most of next week... Somethin's gonna die!!
36 here this morning. Friday morning, high was probably 32-36* Friday, Saturday started out 18* and warmed to 36*. Sunday started out at 19* and has warmed to 46*. Had a bonus gift.![]()

I’m still cold from -27 where we hunted yesterday and Friday. So cold it was hard to take your hands out of your gloves for too long.Well home, got the home fires burning. First time I've been warm since Friday morning.
You said you wanted some cold weather. I did what I couldOh LORT!! I built our first fire of the season... Was 32F Saturday morning... warmed up to 55... Absolute chamber of commerce weather for SE Texas!
-27, and I'd just jump IN the fire!!
