Went riding on steep trails, gas gauge all over the place, from 3 bars to "low fuel" and zero bars. Gets your attention when in middle of nowhere! LOL.

Couldn't decide so I bought red and green. I'll install both and have a dual switch. Lights probably won't get installed before moose season. I'm sure they won't mind.

Few pictures from this years moose hunt. I did not get one this year, weather was against us. 30-45 mph winds the whole time. Last night the wind changed direction and came in off the river bring in the silt dust visibility dropped to less then 100 yards. The weather forecast was for increasing wind from the same direction so we left early. Once again the P-500 preformed very well.

Crossed the river 4 times, p-500 did well, on the last crossing the upstream side had water coming over the door. The current pushed me about 25 yards down stream. My buddy almost lost his wheeler on that crossing when the current pushed him about 100 yards down stream and he barely saved it by run up on a gravel bar. After that we decided not to cross again.

I did get stuck once trying to skirt a deep hole in the swamp, slipped off the edge with a rear tire; front was still on the edge but she would not pull out, the drivers side was almost to the the top of the door(wishing for a front dif lock). sorry no picture my phone was dead might get some from my buddy though. I also flopped her when I was backing up and got my rear wheels up on a sand bank that gave way under me. It was slow motion I had time to stand up grasp the roll cages and lean over to try and counter balance it, no damage except my pride.

Climbed to the top of the mountain where the sheep hunters go; 2500ft elevation gain in about 2 miles, loose rocks and ruts most of the way. The Beast climbed it like a champ, the engine breaking coming down allows great control. I will try to upload a video of us coming down later.

Over all a good hunt even though we were not successful I still love the ride and the country is amazing. We only saw/heard of 4 moose and 2 brown bear taken this year. All the hunters I talked to said it was the worst year they have seen in years and most left early due to the weather. All the animals we saw were holding real tight to the deep timber and only moving for about an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening make spot and stalk hunting very difficult.

My set up is:
2015 p-500
Maxxis bighorn 2.0 26-11-12 on all four corners
Strongmade front bumper
Warden 3500 winch
USW Steel ATV box
Cabelas front rack atv bag (addd this year, works well on the front to hold optics and things you want quick access to)
Kolpin rifle boot.

I ordered some rock lights and small toggle switches. Installed a red one today. I glued it in with gorilla glue. Wiring is in place for a green one. I didn't want to clutter up the dash with more of those big rocker switches so will use these little toggles. It's nice to have an interior light.

Added new rims and tires. Big horn originals, 26”. Really helped with ground clearance. Front is 9” wide, back is 12” wide.35b20b0c9de3a06b111634425dc5740e

Went looking for moose today, got to play in the mud instead. Got stuck twice in the Beast. One buddy got stuck twice the other guy got stuck 6-7 times........tires and not having plow mounts taking up ground clearance make all the difference.
