well the trip went well! ill say that this place would be amazing after a nice rain!

i did end up on a hill side trying to turn around because of a fallen tree and I had the front wheel tipping off the ground.. I wasn't a fan of the pioneer trying to fall over...
the mud pits were perfect for the most part. but since the park use to have jeeps and trucks there where some that were way too deep for my 27's the winch got a work out tho!

that leads me to my next mod! i did a dual battery set up.. i didn't photo any of it yet. ill get to it.. but i went simple. i just hooked two batteries together parallel so they can both feed the winch and unit.. and I had a hell of a wench pull and the tranny never kicked out so it worked great!!

pictures of the trip were few and far between since my wife didn't go with.

so here is picture of my awesome dual battery system
i just ran two 14 sized batteries brand new so they should play nice together. hooked in parallel so there is double the amps and same volts. i winched out of some pretty narly stuff last weekend and the volts never dropped below 11.4

fixed the sxs trailer today
had to cut the ends off the boards to allow for the thicker channel.
got the new end channel installed.
then i remad the hinges.
the ramp that got bent i just turned around.. bent end to the ground sxs wont care.

i use this trailer behind the sxs and to load the sxs on for local trips! its been a great trailer. i built it out of an old boat trailer!

looking at tree kickers, nerf bars what ever you want to call them.. I'm thinking 1" schedule 40 pipe. that put my bars roughly at 1 3/8 OD.. all im after is something to keep my plastics of the trees when i wrap around one.. this has happened so many times...

i want to space them out far enough my cab doors don't hit.. and my new wheels and tires should line up with them when I'm done.

I'm curious if anyone has seen some good set ups and how they are mounted to the factory nerf bar that's behind the plastic.
also thoughts on my material.. i want to to bend before i bend what every its bolted to.. but with thin wall tubing if you put a kink in it its no longer strong.. so I'm thinking small diameter like 1 3/8 but thick wall soft iron pipe.. then it should give if needed but still stay just as strong if i do bend it up some. any build forms would be great!

here is the bending beast! the only die i dont have is for the 1.25 pipe i wanna use. i snagged this for free! got 350$ in the 1.25 pipe die but that aint bad. set of nerf bars and some other custom parts itll pay for its self in no time.. ive done tons of bending so this should have a small learning curve. and 1.25 pipe is only 25$ for 10ft so its relatively cheap to play with.

as promised. I found a junk elbow. lasered a flange. welded it up. bolted it on..

good news. it dont look bad.

bad news, with out a tip, the exhaust would hit the roll bar, crackle, and sounded rather mean right off idle, but silent in the cruising rpm.

with the tip directing the sound backwards, and not right up against anything its sounds like sewing machine again...

weekend ride went well!

Brushyridge, Astoria, IL
25$ to get in and it was a fantastic time!! lots and lots of trails, a beautiful creak, and some mud holes that could swallow the best of builds.

the trails were awesome. easy slow trails. fast pace trails. some crawling trails. even some put your seat belt on and pray trails!

if you some what local id say its better then the badlands and worth about a 4hr drive.

i guess thats a good way to rate parks.. by the distance i would travel to get to them.🤣

The cliff's insane terrain. Marseilles, IL worth 2hr of drive time
Bad lands Indiana worth 3hr drive
Brushy Ridge, Astoria, IL worth 4hr drive

hope this isnt against the rules. but here is the links to a few short videos.

New video by Scott Morgan some of the creek
New video by Scott Morgan some of the trails
New video by Scott Morgan some of the trails
New video by Scott Morgan the video does this no justice.. this was a rocky steep ass hill.
New video by Scott Morgan continuing up the hill.

What was your goal with the exhaust tip replace? To eliminate the spark arrestor?
100% for the exhaust note.
I took it off just cuz I read some guys said different tips make a different note.

the tip off was almost perfect. just a small growl off idle. idle was not effected. 2krpm not effected. but that grunt when I launch off the line or out of a mud hole was perfect!!! i put the tip on and was very un happy that it basically went back to stock sound for me. it is a little louder and noticeable if you next to a wall or in a mud hole.
