Is the 10" to bulky and big for a mount in the P1000 or ??

Wanting to mount a 8 or 10 inch tablet for trail maps/gps

It depends where you want to mount it. If it is out of the way from everything (shifters, switches, meters) and it's not going to be in the way when getting in or out, get the bigger one. if your going to mount it on or around the dash go with the smaller one. Either one you go with make sure you get one with plenty of memory.

Can any post pics of there mounts? Tendency is to go big, but sometimes that can be cumbersome. Going to go look at them today. It will be on the dash somewhere with a ram type arm mount. At least that's my thinking.

This is the 7in Samsung. I have LE now and the dash is laid out different so I got a 8in 32gb to go in it. 10in is getting pretty big and it may shake and vibrate so bad you can't even see it if it's on a ram mount set up.

I have mine mounted up on the top roll bar I find that glare is rarely an issue at that location... and water isn't most the time :)

This is the locking mount being used by many. Some are trying to sell it for $140-$170 depending on base. You will see it can be much cheaper. Adjustable for any 7" to 11" tablet, anodized aluminum construction and keyed lock to mitigate easy theft.

Thanks for the mount info. I am also trying to decide between 8 and 9.6.
FYI searching for the exact mount WITHOUT the forklift pillar base is $20 more from everyone else, go figure. You can unscrew the base and bolt it directly to dash as is.

The best tablet for using as a GPS available in 8 and 10" is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A this is the model I use. Model SM-T380NZKEXAR that's the 32GB 8". All these use the latest GPS chip that tracks all US and Soviet GPS and GLOSNASS satellites, up to 12 at any given time. Plus is powerful enough to stream music to sound system concurrently while being used as GPS . Typically get 12 hours battery life.

After looking at the tablets today, I am going with the 8" tab A 32G. The 10 was just too big for the cab.

Thanks for the info on the mount!

I started out with the 8” tab and it worked fine but ended up moving to the 10” and I prefer it better. That little extra real estate helps + I can split the screen on the 10” and have two apps running / displayed at same time.

Edit to correct a early senior moment. The first tablet I had was the 7” and I ended up going with the 8” for all the reasons listed above. When you see the pictures below you will see there is a good difference inbetween the two

Got any pics of it in the cab?
