Over landing out of a SXS,200 miles one way, then make it back,is that what we’re talking?that would be more interesting 400 miles round trip.
That wouldn't be the hard part. Finding a group that is willing to commit to that type of trip is what I think would be the most difficult. Like @JTW mentioned, a 3-5 unit group would be ideal. Anything more and it starts to not be fun any more I'd imagine.

I am.. 400 is very do able particularly in Moab with the way the town is situated. You can go up into the la Sal mountains (do a 2-3 day loop a couple hundred miles) and come down and hit town on the way across the road to the canyon country.

Yeah, our fall overland ride is borderline too big a group. Obstacles take a long time to get everyone across and odds of a catostrophic breakdown are much higher with that many more possibilities.

When I bought my 2nd gen I was going to do the full RTT and outfit it for overlanding but the other guys that got me into it lost interest and sold their rigs shortly after I got the truck. Great looking setup!

What tires and RTT do you have? Also, anything you'd change or do differently in regards to the setup?
In the pic, tires are 255/85r16 BFG KM2. Now I've got the same sime in a KM3. Tent is a CVT Mt Rainier. I did change from a bed rack to a shell, so the dogs could stay in there instead of having to install the lower annex for the tent. We don't use it much anymore, as the little group we'd get out with has moved, or has conflicting schedules. We have the occasional little campout on our farm, & we take the tent when going on roadtrips & campout in the mountains.

I don't have any exact route but I have notes of every trail we have been on who with with us and what was broken on them. I also have most of previous routes on gps as well as a general idea of some different tracks we could take depending on how long we stay out. Its hard to find groups to go to Moab for some reason.
That the overland for 2021?
