mine is a 24' converted cargo trailer has everything but fresh water tank and generator. fits my 4 door turbo and sleeps 4 people

going to add a tv and some overhead cabinets soon. And will just put a water tank and generator in the back of the truck if we ever want to boondock it.

i bought it like this from a firefighter up in knoxville. He had the time to do it and saved himself a lot of money

doing it yourself i think he had 3k in parts roughly. i have the thread he put together while he was building it if you want to look at it. it would take going over to the dark side, but he list all the parts he used and the thinking behind all the routing of wires pipes etc, etc.

My dad has a 24' v nose that we might convert. if you have any technical knowledge at all you can do something like this pretty easy. the biggest thing is time to put in it. the guy i bought this from i know had it in the fire hall or worked on it on his off days for about a year before it was complete. it has its trade offs but my wife and i are happy with it. now that i have it i might do a couple things different or add to what he has started.

You have much trouble getting in and out of the machine in a 7ft trailer? That’s been part of my concern and reason for the 8.5

My hunting buddy has a 4 horse slant with living quarters. Very nice but we have busted the fresh water tank 3x.

Watching this thread, in same search as JTW, getting dizzy from all the research. If there are dual 3500 lb. axles, would not that spread the load to 7000 cap? Also looking for taller unit. Also been searching reviews on lawn care and contractor forums as they use these alot.

7000lb capacity includes the weight of the trailer itself.
The title will have the as built weight on it. Subtract that value from 7000lbs to give you your cargo weight capacity.

I think it will be hard to beat that maxx price for what you get. With that said... evidently there are like 3 manufactures in Douglas GA... my buddy bought an empire Brand. Basically the same thing as the maxx. I’m in no hurry so I’ll keep an eye on the used market but I have a couple criteria that may be hard to find used.
