I love mine ( Elka Stage 5's )But don't buy the Elka Stage 5's unless you understand shocks or willing to learn, some times simpler is better!

I installed mine at the setting they arrived at and just went back a week ago and put a little preload on the front ones. only one trip out on them so far but it felt better - I will know more after this weekend. I know the Shocks are different for the 3 seater and the 5 but the 3 sure comes cranked half way down on the frontsDid you add any preload?
Great! The P 1's didn't come with shocks!I installed mine at the setting they arrived at and just went back a week ago and put a little preload on the front ones. only one trip out on them so far but it felt better - I will know more after this weekend. KY 3 works great, but any type of lubricant will work, don't use WD 40, water will work as well as WD 40.HUGH? Just jack up your S x S lube with some KY 3 and adjust the springs, DUGH!
Scrap the bottle .
Lift makes the ride a lot better. Especially the fronts. The fox really take over at speed.I recently put the SATV lift on my Pioneer 1000-5 knowing I would loose some softness to the ride.... So now I'm wondering what the ride would be like if I added the Fox or Elka shocks with the 3inch lift. Would either of those shocks help enough to make it worth the purchase or did the lift just put me in a "log wagon". Any feedback would be great! THANKS
Truth be told I really never put my machine to any test until recently. Last couple of weekends we've hit some slightly rocky trails more than I'm used to anyways. I was riding with my buddy who was in his stock p1000-5 and he was constantly bottoming the fronts out, I was the opposite just not much give at all! Hoping to get some of the softness back with upgraded shocks.....just didn't know how much I could gain back??Lift makes the ride a lot better. Especially the fronts. it's night and day difference, you will have more confidence in your bike, but it's no RZR!I recently put the SATV lift on my Pioneer 1000-5 knowing I would loose some softness to the ride....
