Couple developments. First one I haven’t wanted to talk about but is what it is and all know I will report the good with the bad no matter how much I like or dislike a machine.
My machine has the dreaded low bang😢 I noticed it not long after getting it built. Was very quick to get shift gate in and make sure cable adjusted correctly. From day one I knew this existed so always made sure it said “low” I can say very honestly I’ve never rushed the low shift, and pretty damn positive my family hasn’t either, not like we’re uninformed.
First time out it happened once then not for a bit, then happened to my daughter (some in i4wd slip video may have heard it, people say she let off and that’s why it slipped, she let off because it banged) it’s slowly progressed. Since I even ground a bit out of shift plate at low setting. Unfortunately I didn’t buy as new so who knows there but it was a dunes machine so I kinda doubt it was used much.
Well anyways mine is slightly different then other cases, it shows “L” instantly and easy like it should, but usually after it’s in and several hundred feet up trail it hits. Hard to gauge it that way. I’ve tried easing into throttle, jumping on throttle lightly and back off before going, pretty much everything but it still will do it about 1/3 time for no rhyme or reason, under different circumstances each time.
So the good news, I’ve been running last few trips in high range and am very impressed. It’s sooo much better in high range then the Pioneer that it hasn’t rendered too much an issue. I think between lack of weight and stock tires it does well. Worst part is following pioneer through very tight woods at such slow rate, it’s at verge of slip and lightly chattering clutches on occasion until I bump r’s it or stop and increase distance until can run slightly faster. Not trying to burn up clutches but not too afraid if it means continuing to ride.
Will be ordering ’22 Talon goods this fall and getting everything fixed but I’m little strapped for cash and can’t make time currently, I’m not allowing this issue to effect ridin season nor will I park it. I truly love this machine so moving on, hopefully clutches hold out, next few weekends have some massive climbs, and log crawls, little concerned bit f*** it!

Second issue I’ve had was bang on heavy bumps. It’s slowly developed over last two rides, I checked bolts throughout and everything tight so continued on. But it’s bugged me, tonight I set out to find it. As I was looking it over I noticed the rear sway bar went up hill to the shock and immediately remembered the rear sits lower then my friends, we’d noticed on a ride. I smacked rear spring and sure enough it sounded loose. Not enough preload, springs settled. Dammit I should’ve been on that quicker but not even 6 months riding I wasn’t expecting that. But she’s now got 2700 miles on it and ain’t been nice to her so ya no s***. Easy fix.
Oh and btw I really am enjoying the Live Valve, may feel different when there’s a problem but I’ve driven stock and LV on same terrain one after the other, it’s a totally different machine.

Tuff Luck Brother. Hpoefully it makes it to winter. It being a fixer upper, if that's the only bad thing to happen you still came out great IMHO.

WB
Oh I’m not complaining just reporting! I think for the difference it can probably afford a few things fixed. As long as clutches hold on I’m sure sub trans will. Really enjoy this machine! Hoping to ride soon with another one (wink wink)

Well I think the machine has had enough of those dirt road and Jeep trails🤣 Man last weekend was really really hard on the ol girl. At this point none of that matters anymore, not exactly the machine that gets detailed up before every ride like some. Kinda bums me out a little but sure more fun to ride.
Mechanically she’s doing great. I’ve had two torn boots, the front a-arm is still drastically “arched” and it’s occasionally had the low clunk but after last trans fluid change it’s been much better. Was in low most of last weekend and I’m sure it’ll get me till winter so can throw updated parts at it. 2600 miles, most of which have been brutal but it’s doing fine.

Last weekend was an incredible ride. Probably over 30 hrs behind the wheel and most of it night rides in the trails. Sunday night I led the whole time all the way through the orange trail which is strictly dirt bike. I must’ve pushed over 100 trees and some of that trail is off camber at about 50-60 deg so trees are all that saved you. Was only cut out twice but Pioneers behind me were cut out 5-6 times following. This machine really does well with no shots given. Really like it! It’ll be nice again!😉

Oh and a shout out to Bosman Designs. Wish I knew his name on the sight but his stuff is exceptional. His bumper is taking so much more abuse then my friends Honda brush bumper it’s not funny. One corner got bent up but that was a very stubborn pine, the rest isn’t even really scuffed.
I recently pulled the lower doors and got sick of my phone bouncing out of the machine so called and Ryan answered, he said he’d send it out immediately if I purchased the phone holder but they shipping closed in 15 min. He had it boxed up before I paid him. And the phone mount made it for the weekend. That coupled up with the Quad Lock for my iPhone held up to even the windshield being pushed in be a tree🤣 seriously that guy kicks ass, thank you

Yep, I've got the same one and it's a quality piece. I have mine on the steering column because I was going to put the PV3 there, but I think I'll move it to where you've got yours and use it for my phone.

It’s awesome. With placement on side it’s been easy to control phone and face recognition unlock works flawless. The Quad Lock system is really good too.

How does your phone mount to it? Gotta pic?
It’s very secure. I got the factory case but they make attachments for any case or device. These are made for dirtbikes.
If take much video with phone they have vibration dampeners as well to protect the phone cameras.

You need a case that has the quad lock adapter on the back like this:

1662734616198

You press that blue tab in CP's pic as you put the phone on and twist it. That tab locks it in. Used to use it on mountain bikes and it worked awesome.

Here's the Ram adapter for the quad lock, they are pretty proud of it...

Damn you @CumminsPusher .... I just ordered the case and mount to throw in my Talon. I have the tackform in there now but I like it better in the Pioneer where there is more room to take the phone in and out of it. Hopefully have that old yellow bastard back this weekend!

Really impressed with the case itself. I thought it would only be on phone for rides but it’s a much better case then I had so it’s permanent now.
