P1000 Jackal's P1000-5

Well just as well get this started off. For those of you that followed along on my Pioneer 500 build, I pretty much bought all my accessories before I even had the machine in hand and within 3 weeks of having it home it was all tricked out like I wanted.

Thanks to @HondaProKevin from Honda of Chattanooga I will pick up a Red Pioneer 1000-5 Deluxe on 12/22 just before Christmas. :)

Stay tuned going to be a long and expensive 2 months. :D

All winches should feed from the bottom, that is where they are designed to pull from. I agree the angle could be less, for the guy that uses his winch only every so often I don't think it is a big deal but for the guy who uses his winch for a snow plow can definitely cause premature wear on the same section of the cable. I don't use my winches often, they are insurance for my style of driving, that being said my cable will likely dry rot before I wear it out over the fairlead, but that's just me.
Thanks for the sanity check!

Lot of light looks good! Be awesome late night deep in the woods be able to see after a few beers.i like how you mounted the bar down low rather then on the roof. Our last rig was on the roof and even though it held up even though a roll over from my kid it always hit branches and just got in the way. Lights above your head never work as good as below. We had them turned off most of the time our 180watt on the bumper worked better. We will mount low this time for sure! Have you considered upgrading the stator at idle our 700 only made about 400 watts (I'm pretty sure the 1000 has the same output however it frees up a little because of the led headlights) but I had to send in the stator to Ricky's stators after that it added around 300 if I remember right and that finally held up other then at idle.I plan on doing that on the 1000 and just praying it'll be enough. Do those 3in housings work well with the bar as spot beams? We've always gone with floods as their light is spread out I was wondering how they light up as your driving

Jackal I couldn't totally tell from the pics. But did you mount your front lower light bar to the metal of the glass windshield? I am getting a curved led bar and was planning/hoping to mount it there also.

All the pod light 4" square are flood beams not spot, both the 12" & 40" bars are combo spot / flood. The lighting is awesome grand peripheral vision for turning in the dark and seeing what you are turning into.

Jackal, for your rear lights, did you run the wires along the roof or down in the body someplace?

Yes I mounted the light bar drilling two 3/8" holes through the metal of the glass windshield frame, had to use 3/4" thick nylon spacers between standoff and windshield frame for light to clear. Curved light bar may be better but the corners at the mounts may still be in the way.

Used 14/4 multi conduit wiring for trailer lights all 4 wires coated in heavy black rubber insulation, ran it from under hood up front passenger side along the top of roll bar next to the roofline all the way back and crossed over the back roll bar to the drivers side. I could have use lighter gauge wiring but that's what the parts store had and I liked the extra level of insulation. 2 wires did both back pods the other 2 the 12" light bar.

All my LED lights are STV same as my rocker switches, price was right and all are CREE LED's with IP67 rating. the front 40" bar used 5w LED instead of the standard 3w that's why it draws 400 watts instead of 240.

No, but that is because the frame of the light bar eclipses the hood entirely, all I see is the black light frame and then the ground.

Here is a few pictures of the Strong Made lift kit installation, fairly straightforward I think I had both sides of the front end done in less than 20 minutes. The rear was a bit more persnickety mainly because of the Trail Armor A-Arm covers limiting movement of my big hands. The photos shown are all on drivers side front and then rear.
For the front all you need is a 17mm Socket and wrench to remove the OEM bolt and a 19mm socket and wrench to install the replacement hardware with the lift brackets, and a 3/8" socket to tighten the u bolt nuts. For the rear in addition to the aforementioned you have to remove the rear wheels, and will also need a 14 mm socket and 1/4" drive ratchet to remove and reinstall the sway bar bolt and the lift brackets to it. The rear A-arms are a bit more difficult to maneuver and start bolts by yourself. If I had an extra pair of hands would have gotten it done in 1/3rd the time on the rear. Overall it appears to be robust and after taking it for a spin letting the suspension recompress and measuring it I gained 2" of lift in the front and rear.

Before, height of fairlead 20 1/2" to bolt, afterwards 23" to bolt:

STI HD3 14 x 7 rims with 6+1 offset, ordered one rim to ensure I had adequate clearance going with the 6+1 offset. Turns out is was about 1/2" difference per side in front and 1 1/2" difference per side in rear* Note OEM rim is 8" wide this is 7" so 1" of the 1 1/2" is due to the rim width difference in the back. Everything cleared front and rear should put me close at 61" front and 60" wide in the rear. I took pics of it mounted to the front as a test fit full lock to full lock but the concrete worms must have gotten to my phone. Anywhoo here is the rim mounted on the rear.

20160107 183430 001 20160107 183401 20160107 183417

So I will be going with these wheels on 28" x 10 x 14 Roctane XD tires.
