A weight distribution hitch fixes that right up. Tows a lot flatter too. If I used a half ton for anything over about 5 or 6k I’d run one
In fact, I have a WDH for sale if anyone needs it, I never want to see the b**** again...:D

I had that. I found out quick that the 5th wheel is the best weight distribution available.
I actually agree with Monte on this one. I've towed similar weight trailers with both and the 5th wheel is WAY better.
Load position and making sure there is the correct weight on the hitch is VERY important too.

This is corny with the treadmill and mustang as an RC tow vehicle, but shows very well why weight positioning is important

I am towing right around 7500#.
Is that just an educated estimate or have you actually weighed it? There’s a rough sawn lumber saw mill near me and the guy let me bring my trailer in for a weighing. It’s amazing to me how much all the gear weighs that you pack into an RV. I had 1500 pounds worth.

Absolutely agreed. 5th tows way better. Can never get a bumper pull to be as good as axle but it can be distributed better. Some people don’t like giving up the entire box.

I still haul a crap ton in mine because I opted for the goose neck. And don’t want to fool with that thing left in the bed after uncoupling. The flush ball pops right off.

I meant hauling something while towing. I would personally bumper pull to about 26-8 ft with my truck by choice even though it’s not as friendly. Beyond that I’d go in bed.

Just an estimate, I would love to have each axle weighed though.

Trailer from the factory 5800#
SxS 1200#
WDH and hitch 100#
Occupants 270#
Gear 130+#
Truck is rated at 7800#

I may be closer to 7700# , without weighing each item in the camper , it's hard to say how much crap I have in there. I do believe I am well within the limit's of the truck though!

Oh I’m satisfied that you’re within the limits of your truck, I was just curious if you had actually pulled it on the scales, or were doing an educated estimate. I was amazed at what my gear weighs, and I’m not talking about the P5, just all the gear in the holds, clothes and bedding, crates of kitchen gear, the liquor cabinet, all the bathroom gear. Outdoor furniture, large compressor, generator and on and on....

With at least an 11’ garage to hold the P1K, that doesn’t leave enough living space. The squaw brings an unbelievable amount of gear.....

The GVW of Rooster is probably around 2000 lbs, 60 beers, radio, towels for cleaning up beer spills and mods, HA!

I'll bet you a case of beer you're over 7800. s*** adds up way faster than you think.

I had my toy hauler with sxs and "bare minimum " supplies last Arkansas trip and was still amazed at how much weight I added. Most all cabinets were still empty.

I have a co-op scale I use by my house and also weighed on the CAT scale.
