Question for CTD or those who have done this... Does the sides come exactly to the edge of the side rails? Wondering how much to bring out to protect rails.

I would still recommend a tube slider gusset on the rock rails.

What do you mean exactly? Like bolting a piece of angle on the skid and frame? Trying to avoid kickers/sliders

Here is the rock slider post from my build thread. 3/16" formed Ruffstuff tube gusset. VHB bonds it to the tube and it's bolted through the skid plate. Rock solid and no crevise for corrosion

Awesome thank you sir. Only thing is I'm not a fan of drilling in my frame. Wondering if I could maybe notch the skid right there and use a squared u bolt, by welding it to the gusset and using a plate over top of the frame?

I wouldn't worry about drilling a few holes. I think I drilled over 100 holes in mine before I rode it. I'd rather add the strength now before bending the sliders and being unable to fix them without lots of welding or full side frame replacement. My sliders can support the weight of either side with both tires off the ground and 4 guys in the machine. Stock they flex when you step on them.

I see yours bends up behind the front tires.. some others in this thread do not. I like the idea of having it curve up, but will I need forward arms with 28" tires or they rub? I thought someone said that in another thread..

I have stock arms and 28s. I made my outer panels but they don't rub the tires

Todd, as far as the width on your skid, is that the width of the template? Or did you add a little to each side?

I've never seen the template. My edges are 16" from the outside of the frame

Check my pictures in post # 70, I cut the sides 16-5/8 wide for a little protection
